CHRISTMAS TEDDY BEAR GIVEAWAY.

Had to share how the Lord can and will use YOU as a vessel. Enjoy and be blessed CHRISTMAS BEAR GIVE AWAY. 1997 Charles had been gone one year, since our anniversary was December 24th this time was bittersweet for me. As Christmas Ever approached I was quite antsy wanting to bless others in a mighty way but unsure how. As a teddy bear collector, I had amassed 27 Teddy Bears almost the same size and in perfect condition what to do—since we had been in the Ministry (God’s Christian Ministry Cleveland Tn.) I began looking for ways to give during this season. I called the local hospital In Carbondale Il where I was living and spoke to the Director of Nursing for the Pediatric Unit. I asked her to check and see how many children would be on the Pediatric floor for Christmas Eve. I also explained I wanted to bless the children and the parents with a Teddy Bear for Christmas. Several days later I got the approval to proceed (ALWAYS get clearance before you tackle anything). I was told there were 25 children who would be there on Christmas Eve . I was floored and so grateful I could do this small task of love for these precious sick children. I gathered them together placed a candy cane on the paw and off I went to be the Lord’s servant. I contacted the night Charge nurse and she went with me from room to room—I had on a red cape (red for the blood of Jesus) and gloves, as the nurse would ask permission to enter and I went in—The children so sweet and tiny in private rooms, when I placed the bear beside the child and gave the candy cane to the mom or dad their warmth was overwhelming. Several asked me if I was Salvation Army, DSF or some charity— or church, ‘No I am just a servant of the Lord, that’s all’ The looks on the faces of the dads and moms was amazement—the circle of rooms was complete but I had one bear to give and one last room— My heart ached, the last room had a 12 year old young lady---ALONE on CHRISTMAS EVE the nurse told me she had no family to visit—I lingered with her longer than the others and as I brushed her hair from off her forehead, and kissed her on the cheek, she looked at me with a deep penetrating look—I told her I had to go and that Jesus loves her so much—‘Lady can I ask you something? Are you Jesus’ Talk about humbling me as the tears gathered I assured her I was NOT Jesus and went out briskly.(I COULD NOT LET HER SEE ME CRY) Years have gone and I have tried to have the Christmas Bear Giveaway at other hospitals but have been met with closed doors—Stepping out on faith this Christmas season 2013 I am once again preparing for The Christmas Teddy Bear give away—I just received my 30 teddy bears and they are all looking for a home I KNOW the Lord has gone before me in this matter (this time I will place tiny bandages on the paw since they are going to a sick little one) Someone asked me WHY TEDDY BEARS?? Simple answer—when Jesus hung on the cross HIS arms were outstretched embracing a cold world, these teddy bears have outstretched arms to embrace YOU in a hug!! And Jesus love
