2nd Cornithians 2:16-18

Do Not Be Unequally Yoked …16Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. 17"Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you. 18"And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.

TEMPLE MOUNT__LAST DAYS

post on Now The End Begins ‘The Israeli Government Has Surrendered the Temple Mount’ by NTEB News Desk In an "unprecedented" move, police on Wednesday informed Jewish groups that the Temple Mount will be closed to all non-Muslims until at least the end of Ramadan, on 11th August. The announcement has provoked renewed anger over anti-Jewish discrimination on the Temple Mount, and sparked calls by activists for a mass-protest on 7th August, at the start of the Hebrew month of Elul. israel-bans-jews-from-temple-mount-dome-of-the-rock-july-2013 Temple Mount activists had complained that for the past three days the Temple Mount - the holiest place in Judaism - remained inexplicably closed to non-Muslim visitors. The only "explanation" offered was a bland sign which simply read "Today the Temple Mount will be closed to visitors." Those restrictions did not, however, apply to Muslim visitors, who continue to receive unrestricted access. On Wednesday, Police Commander Avi Bitton finally informed representatives of the Organisation of Temple Movements - an umbrella of various Temple Mount groups - that the sign would remain up for at least another two weeks, until after the Muslim festival of "Eid", which marks the end of Ramadan. Since the beginning of Ramadan, Islamists have upped their campaign to prevent Jews from setting foot on the Temple Mount - let alone praying there. On the eve of the 9th of Av - the Jewish day of mourning over the destruction of the Holy Temples - a group of Jews including Deputy Foreign Minister Ze'ev Elkin were driven off the Mount by a mob of Muslim extremists. The next day, police banned Jews from the site altogether, provoking angry reactions from worshippers, activists and Members of Knesset, including government ministers. Since then, say activists, Jews who wish to ascend have either been turned away without explanation, or otherwise subjected to even more severe restrictions than they had previously experienced. In a statement following the meeting, the Organisation of Temple Movements accused the police of caving in to Islamist threats of violence, and failing in their duty to securefreedom of worship: "Since the beginning of this month, groups of Muslims have used violence to try to prevent Jews from entering the plaza of the Temple Mount. Police could not deal with the rioting Muslim extremists, and time and time again stood helpless before them, “Now it turns out that the police have collapsed completely in their mission, and have failed in their effort to keep order on the Temple Mount." Yehuda Glick, a spokesman for the Organisation of Temple Movements, slammed the police decision as "illegal": “All of these [closures of the Temple Mount] were illegal actions taken by police, violating freedom of access to holy places," he said. Glick called on Jews and government ministers to immediately begin visiting the Temple Mount around the clock, in response to attempts to deny access to Jews. The Temple Mount is Judaism's holiest site, where the two holy Temples once stood before being destroyed by the Babylonian and Roman empires respectively. Despite its supreme importance to Jews worldwide, Jewish visitors are subject to draconian restrictions on the Mount, including a ban on praying, due to the presence of an Islamic complex, administered by the Waqf Islamic Trust, and amid threats by Islamist groups. The Israeli police have bypassed several court decisions upholding the Jewish right to prayer there by citing unspecified "security concerns", either to ban individual activists or even to issue blanket prohibitions on Jews ascending at all. Religious Jews are followed closely by Israeli police and Waqf guards to prevent them from praying, or from carrying out any other religious rituals. Non-Jewish visitors are not subject to such restrictions. But Wednesday's decision to close the Mount for such a prolonged period of time is "unprecedented," according to Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute. "This sets a new and dangerous precedent," warned Rabbi Richman. "Over the past few weeks there have been several attacks by Muslim extremists on the Temple Mount, and the police have aided and abetted them by standing by and allowing our rights to be violated. Even the Deputy Foreign Minister was not granted the right to freedom of worship." Rabbi Richman accused the government of having "surrendered sovereignty over the Temple Mount." "By granting the Jordanian-run Waqf free reign on the site, even aquiessing to their demands to ban Jews from ascending, the State of Israel has effectively abandoned the Temple Mount altogether. "No matter what posturing the government performs, and no matter how many times they repeat the meaningless mantra that 'The Temple Mount is in our hands' [a reference to the famous declaration made after the liberation of Jerusalem in 1967 - ed.], the fact is that the Temple Mount is actually in the hands of the Waqf and the Jordanian government." "Test balloon" The Organization of Temple Movements is taking this latest development very seriously, viewing it as a "test balloon" as to how the Israeli public - and wider Jewish public - will respond. As a result, they have announced a demonstration at 7:30am on the 7th of August, which is also the start of the Hebrew month of Elul, marking the beginning of the period of repentance in the run up to the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana) and the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur. "This week we commemorated the 10th anniversary of the reopening of the Temple Mount to Jews, after it was closed for three years following the outbreak of the Arab intifada," said Rabbi Richman. "During those three years of abandonment the Waqf took the opportunity to destroy countless precious artifacts in an attempt to erase the Jewish connection to the Mount. "It is truly tragic that the government has chosen to mark this occasion by once again imposing an extended ban on Jewish ascents. "If this situation passes quietly, we will have reached a point of no return. The police are testing the waters: how important is the Temple Mount to the Jewish public? Our message - and the message of Jews around the world - must be clear: the Temple Mount is the heart and soul of the Jewish people, and we will not abandon it again." source - Israeli National News

THE STRANGER copyright (c) 2000

The Stranger Into your church I came today, I had some words I had to say. My clothes were clean but torn and tattered, I had a message that was all that mattered. You seated me in the very last row, You're a stranger, you, we don't know. The music played, the people sang, A joyful sound through the church house rang, All of you turned away from me, YOU ARE NOT WELCOM HERE. YOU'RE A STRANGER YOU SEE. I'd traveled many miles to say my peace, I prayed those against me soon would cease. I held my head high, my shoulders set tall, I had a mission; I had answered the call. With strong voice I rose to share words that day, But my words were met with hatred that day. "Leave old man you have nothing to say" I was shoved to the door quite roughly, As the members mocked me quite gruffly. "You cause trouble, that's all you will do, Get out of town, we want no part of you." I'll go on my way, the Father sees, This judgment you gave will bring you to your knees. Slowly I turned, a tear in my eye, Father this is your servant Paul They cast me aside as they did you, I gladly did what you told me to.

MY POEM THE STRANGER FITS HERE!!!!

Pastor Jeremiah Steepek (pictured below) transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food....NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit n the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him. As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek"....The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood up.....and started walking down the aisle.....the clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment....then he recited “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see a gathering of people......not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to become disciples? He then dismissed service until next week.......Being a Christian is more than something you claim. I'ts something you live by and share with others.

Zechariah 4:10

The Gold Lampstand …8Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 9The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. 10For who has despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

And God Laughs

And God Laughs By Gene Lawley In Psalm 2 the Lord laughs and holds those in derision who plan to take over the nations and rule without God’s involvement. They plan to write Him out of history. But God laughs! Here is the context in Psalm 2:1-5: “Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!’ He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them. Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury…” Likely, much like those conspiring together at the Tower of Babel, that early incident in the beginning of the formation of that seven-headed beast that John writes of in Revelation 13. The wisdom of man, apart from God, looks upon the belief in and obedience to the God of the universe as foolishness. The avowed evolutionists prefer to die in unbelief rather than submit to the truth that God is God, sovereign and supreme! Take the case of the late Stephen Jay Gould, who, when he could not find the link between man and beast, that “missing link.” He invented a very scientifically sounding term to explain its “undeniable existence” (that was his firm mindset). He called it “punctuated equilibrium.” Sounds very intelligent and sophisticated, doesn’t it? It really means nothing, and God would laugh at that foolishness. Mr. Gould died in 2002 and apparently did not have an opportunity to add substance to his “scientific” theory. Man’s idea of spirituality and the road to heaven (when they think there is one) always seems to be one of his own making, whether of pomp and ceremony, “Having the appearance of godliness but denying the power thereof ” as Paul writes (1 Timothy 4:5), or at the lower end, where man is a god to himself. God takes the foolish in the eyes of the world and delivers His message to those who will listen. A Redeemer coming as a babe in an animal’s feed trough, growing up among His peers as one who was also touched with the feelings of our weaknesses, yet without sinning! (Hebrews 4:15) Truly God’s way is not man’s way. He came to die, for He was foreshadowed by the sacrifice of the pure and unblemished lamb on the altar. As John the Baptist declared by the river Jordan, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” The most laughable tactic, however, seems to be displayed daily in our current events. The framers of the “One World Order” provide that picture of futile effort, which is becoming more and more evident. No intent here, of course, to downplay the seriousness of those concentrated efforts to bring about that global entity of which they would be in charge as the ruling elite. If we recall Henry Kissinger’s jubilant burst of enthusiasm just after Barack Obama’s election in 2008—“He has been primed to lead us into a New World Order”—and look objectively over the broad area of developments in America and our foreign policies since then, we can understand the depth of the meaning of that word “primed.” Records show, though denied by the mainstream media and national leaders, Obama knew he was being groomed to become president of the United States, even while he was registered as a “foreign” student at Columbia University. Talk about long-range planning! Go figure. Those framers mean business. Like Napoleon of old, the “objective is set; the obstacles must get out of the way!” But God…laughs! The one world government, which is to be the seventh head of that beast in John’s vision in Revelation 13:1, arises out of a long lineage of people who have the Tower of Babel mindset. They operate in what I call “The Tower of Babel Syndrome,” which says, “We will build this tower into the heavens and there is no God who will stop us!” And it may look like that is just what is going to happen! Acts 15.18 says: “Known to God from eternity are all His works.” And those who are responding to the challenge of Jesus, to “watch, for you do not know what hour your master may return” are vividly aware of the truth in His further statement, “As you see these things begin to happen, look up, for your redemption draws near.” Jesus Christ, the Alpha and the Omega, knows the beginning from the end. At His appointed time, when the people of the world are going about their daily activities—buying and selling, marrying and giving in marriage, planting, building—and suddenly, just as it was when Noah went into his ark, and Lot went out of the city of Sodom, and great destruction came upon those left there, so it will be with the coming of the Lord (Luke 17:26-30). “For you know perfectly that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, for when they shall say, ‘Peace and safety’, then shall sudden destruction come upon them…”(1 Thessalonians 5:2-3). And God laughs—not in humor or joy, but in derision and with deep sadness, I’m sure. For “He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

In Greek: Ἥξει. Transliteration: Ä“xei. Root word: hékó. Definition: I have come; am present, have arrived. The day of the Lord arrives as a thief in the night. It does not end as a thief in the night. The “day” is more than just a 24-hour period of time. It is not the same amount of time as “the evening and the morning” during the creation chronicle in the book of Genesis. A lot takes place during the day of the Lord. It is the day of the “Lord” because the “Lord” Jesus was sacrificed for our sins, and it is His “day” because the “day” represents the period of time of His judgment upon all mankind: His judgment on all those who choose to deny Him and deny His sacrifice for their sins and His rule over the earth during the millennial kingdom. “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8). When Jesus taught His disciples on the Mount of Olives about events that would take place during the day of the Lord, He was focusing on Israel. The salvation of all mankind came as a result of God's blessing on Israel through Christ the Messiah and the judgment of all mankind will come as a result of God's wrath on Israel for rejecting Christ the Messiah. God redeemed all mankind from the curse of the Law through the sacrifice of the Lamb, and God will judge all mankind through the wrath of the Lamb: The Lion of the Tribe of Judah - The Root of David - The Lamb of God. God’s love for Israel is a very intense principle woven throughout the Bible. It is like the love a husband has for his wife. God’s love for Israel is described very beautifully in the book of Hosea. When Israel rejected the Messiah, God was provoked to jealousy and anger. His anger will be unleashed through His judgment during the day of the Lord in which the great tribulation will take place. Because Jesus Christ─the Messiah─has made such a great sacrifice for all of mankind, God has delayed His judgment on all the earth so that all nations can have a chance to respond to the gospel message of Christ’s salvation. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:15). As Peter said, the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. For those who are not ready and watching, it will come suddenly, and without warning: “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark. And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:36-39) “The Lord [Jesus] of that servant [Israel] shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of ” (Matthew 24:50). The following verses show us that the day of the Lord was in view even in the Torah. ‘Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; their foot shall slip in due time; for the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.’” For the LORD will judge His people and have compassion on His servants” (Deuteronomy 32:35-36a). “And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, Children in whom is no faith.” (Deuteronomy 32:20). The day of the Lord is a time of the Lamb's judgment of Israel and unbelieving gentiles, not the church. “But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God” (Romans 2:5). Revelation chapters 5 and 6 are key to understanding the day of the Lord: “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:16b-17) In this verse, the day of the Lord has begun because His wrath takes place during His day. Revelation chapter 6 says the day of the Lord is already underway at the beginning of the tribulation, not at the end. It is not until Revelation chapter 19 that we see Christ's triumphant return that marks the end of the tribulation. The return of Jesus that takes place in Revelation chapter 19 is referenced by Jesus in Matthew 24:27, 30-31. “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire” (Revelation 19:11). “All of the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30). When heaven is opened in Revelation 19:11, everyone on earth will see Jesus. Christ's return at the end of the tribulation will not come as a thief in the night. The “day of the Lord” will begin as a thief in the night but it will not end as a thief in the night. The entire process of Christ’s coming at the end of the Tribulation will be very obvious to the world, unlike the process of a thief who does not want to announce his presence to those he wants to steal from. When Christ comes as thief, He will only trumpet His Presence to the bride He is “stealing” from the world. While Christ’s bride is caught up, the rest of the world is caught off guard. Why is the bride of Christ such a theft from the world? Because taken with the bride is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in each believer. The Holy Spirit has been holding back through the bride the great evil that will be unrestrained during the tribulation. Oh what great a theft the world shall suffer on the day of our escape! “Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (Luke 21:36; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). The true church has accepted the Lamb as their Messiah. The Church Age will come to a close when the Bridegroom returns to fetch His bride at the Rapture. The wrath of the Lamb is His judgment upon the nation that rejected Him as their Messiah along with the rest of mankind who have rejected Him. His wrath is not meant for those who trust in Him. The Lamb is worthy to judge those who have rejected Him as their Messiah because He took their place of punishment. He is worthy because He lived a perfect, sinless, holy life and was slain in their place. All those who accept the Lamb as their Redeemer will not suffer His wrath, period. “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:9). Again, why the delay in the arrival of the day of the Lord? Because: “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). And again: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:15). He is waiting on His servants to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (2 Thessalonians 5:2, 4; Matthew 24:44).

Has Anyone Ever Thanked God for You? By Janice M. Wilson “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:15) Not often enough do we hear about a hero who dares to make a change for the better, and our hearts swell with pride and maybe even some envy that someone is doing something worthwhile to make life better for someone, somewhere. It’s humane to want to see good things and rejoice about them. Particularly so in our age of history when every day around the world our televisions and radios scream with mostly bad news about accidents, arrests, deaths, abuse, weapons abuse, abductions, starvation, war, monsters, zombies, rampant illnesses, and nature's mayhem. We see sad faces and hopelessness to the extent that most of us turn away from the news and pretend the dreadful events never happen. Mostly everyone avoids the slum areas in towns and cities to avoid seeing absolute poverty, and the sinful lifestyles that people live, mistakenly thinking it will help them out of there. Drugs, prostitution, abuse and constant carousing don’t make a pretty picture of how life should be. But the bad news doesn’t come from just slums and third world countries anymore. It’s our politicians, clergy, rich neighbors, our families, and our kids in the schools (James 5:19-20). All these people came into this world, born from a mother's womb just like us. Regardless of their circumstances and pitiful way they came to be where they are now, they are people with souls and needs just like every other person on earth and the Lord does love them too. It is only God's right to judge, not ours (Matthew 7:1, Luke 6:37). These destitute folks need love, food, shelter, and clothes too. Jesus had said many times to help them for Him and His Father (Matthew 25:40). But those are just the small things that won’t last, because they will be hungry, cold and desperate again tomorrow. What these lost people need the most is everlasting Hope, that someone does love them and offers salvation and rest - food and drink that will quench forever (John 4:13-14). Many of these lost and destitute people never even heard of the Lord Jesus Christ, and have no idea that there is some hope left in the world. That’s where believers come into the picture. What’s most important is the Lord’s great commission He gave his believers. “And he said unto them, ‘Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned’” (Mark 16:15-16) He still reaches out to the hopeless through His willing saints. Those who have taken up the cross daily for Him let Jesus use them to tell the world what he did for us. And there is plenty to do and many to reach! (Luke 10:2) “A new commandment I give unto you, ‘That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another’” (John 13:34) If you don’t tell them, who will? For some, you may be the only person from whom they ever hear of Jesus. And they can’t accept the good news if they never hear it. Just maybe someone else might come along after you to give the message, but no one can be certain of that. He who listens to you deliver the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believes will have eternal life. (John 5:24) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day, the night cometh, when no man can work. (John 9:4) This verse was Jesus talking about God sending him to redeem us, but it is also a reminder to us that a time would come when we can’t preach the Lord’s word freely - and that time is here. As bad as things are right now in the world, the signs are pointing to a particularly dark and troubling time ahead, and there will be even more desperation and hopelessness of many caught up in it, but it’s not too late to start RIGHT NOW (John 4:35). The need for the truth that never has changed and never will go away is also RIGHT NOW, as Jesus promised in Matthew 24:35: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” There’s a great need for truly convicted, selfless Christians who are faithful and eager to share their love for the Lord and his eternal salvation (Matthew 9:9). Just like He forgave you and adopted you as His child (2 Corinthian 6:18), He desires all people in the world to repent and not perish (John 3:16, 2 Peter 3:9). Getting right with God through absolute repentance is mandatory, then growth through fellowship and worship in His Word. Only after that and in true surrender will the Lord use us as HE sees fit, and we should not just do what we think should be done, other than the Great Commission. The men and women of Pentecost did not set out for duties until after the promised Holy Spirit came, empowered, and guided them; and only after they were new believers and worshipping Him only. “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21). Have you personally ever seen the look of utter hopefulness followed by euphoric relief of salvation? You were there too at some point in your life. Remember how you felt when you first became aware of how unrighteous you were and how much you needed forgiveness and renewal? Think back to that feeling of peace of mind and freedom you had experienced when you took that step and became a new person in Christ. Imagine if the person who told you about the Lord and salvation wasn’t “in the mood” or even not happy to share the gospel with you. Your sins would still not be forgiven and you’d still be condemned if they didn’t obey the Holy Spirit and tell you the best news ever. Just making a living to feed and shelter ourselves in a competitive and cold world is stressful let alone trying to keep up and pay all the bills we easily accumulate. And yet pain, sickness, and desperate crimes from the sins of others find us and we cry out to someone for help, or try any remedy that will help us forget for a little while. We see it everywhere now and we can’t escape it in these times, just like what was prophesied. “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19) It is no secret that the Lord Jesus left Paradise and comfort to be amongst us for a little while to walk among the sick, sinful, and possessed to offer healing, freedom and rest, and especially eternal life (Ephesians 5:2, Matthew 9:13). And it should continue through us from the Holy Spirit. How many of us are really offering the hope of something better to come? “Let your light shine before men--that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Can a stranger look into your eyes at any given moment and see Jesus there? (Matthew 6:22-23; Proverbs 15:30.) This means that we are also to love people better than ourselves, and Jesus throughout the Gospels makes this very plain but important (Mark 12:31). The story of the Good Samaritan is a great example of the kind of love we Christians need to have for people. The man didn’t think about whom the poor ravaged stranger was, just that he was a human being and had an immediate need (Luke 10:33). Would you want to be that person? (Matthew 22:14) But how do you share that with a seemingly cold and uncaring selfish world? What if they scorn you? Yes, they may do that, either because of their bitterness from their circumstances or anger toward God or plain love of sin, but it may be possible that you might say just the right thing at the right moment to lead them to a better understanding and conviction from the Holy Spirit. Probably the most profound conversion is Paul (formerly Saul). Here is a man who was so bitterly opposed to the truth, who was so hateful, hopeless, uncompassionate, ruthless and even gleeful when hurting someone who believed in Jesus to be the Messiah. Saul gleefully saw Stephen stoned to death because of his message of the gospel. Stephen was so thoroughly convicted that his face reflected the spirit filled life (Acts 6:15). We wonder about Saul’s life and upbringing, but God knew him better than anyone else. God saw the man inside and his level of passion in his tasks, and his connections. After confronting Saul then putting him through a refining fire, Saul was so thoroughly convicted that he was one of the Lord’s most fearless witnesses ever, and he even changed his name. Paul’s changed life didn’t let his past stop him from witnessing, despite the threats and persecution, and look how many were led to the Lord because of that powerful change (read the Book of Acts)! Nothing (nor anyone’s heart) is too hard for the Lord to break through! But He needs the selfless brothers to carry out the message of His plan for salvation, and He needs us now! So we have listed only two of many who stood proudly, confidently, and with authority on God’s saving Word. And that was thousands of years ago, but what about believers now? And just how will you do this? There are a few ways to find guidance in leading others to the Lord in Spirit and Truth: a. Getting right with God first, then seeking His will. b. Remember the reasons we rejoiced that we were forgiven, always remembering the freedom of being forgiven and to share with unbelievers a list of all the good things that the Lord has done for you, and continues to do in your life. c.Study how Jesus and his followers did their evangelism. Their main point was awareness and repentance of sin, then belief that Jesus was indeed the promised Messiah. John the Baptist lived a solitary but noticeable and spirit-filled life in the wild to prepare the way for the Messiah and to baptize those believers in Him. Also, Paul’s constant requests for encouragement and prayers for the young men (Peter/Timothy/Titus), the various cities and the saints therein. Then there is the account of Stephen’s selfless martyred life and death for Christ. Note the selflessness in their lives, and the commitment to their tasks, and their encouragement to each other. List Jesus’ promises to the men before His death and resurrection about the Holy Spirit coming to remind them and empower them. Read Acts, and observe how the apostles were solely in service for the Living God. d.There are several good ways to be guided in sharing your faith. Online there are (below listed) websites designed to encourage and organize your presentation of the gospel, but it should always be after your own repentance, renewal of faith, fervent prayer and with the knowledge that Jesus will be the one empowering you with His word and conviction, and His direction to do His work. Some of these websites video examples, and some also offer walk-in conferences and course work. Tracts are a nice supplement to use but should be given if one is alsoprepared to always give the reasons for their hope and assurance of salvation: http://www.Wayofthemaster.com http://www.eeinternational.org http://www.eventell.org I ask you again, can anyone see that light of God in your face? “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you” (Philippians 1:3). Has anyone ever thanked God for YOU? Read in the gospels of Jesus’ ministry and how after all the healings, miracles, and forgiveness he offered to the truly repentant, they were so thankful of the Savior that they went back to their town and spread the fabulous news of what happened to them. The woman at the well, her sins of adultery were convicted and forgiven. The woman who touched Jesus’ cloak to be healed because she believed in his powerful miracles and Jesus protected her from scorn. And the crippled man who told of how Jesus healed him to walk for the first time in his life. Just a few of many miracles! Of course we can’t and shouldn’t expect the same extent and acts of appreciation. Never should we want or look for any praise but to know the Lord does see it and knows about them (Matthew 6:2-4), He promises to reward the faithful and true with eternal life and so much more! But best of all, think of the great multitude of the redeemed saints someday who will reside with the Lord in Heaven (Revelation 7:9), and some of them may be there because of your willing witness (Colossians 3:23-24) of that wonderful blessed assurance (1 John 5:13)! “At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children” (Matthew 11:25) What will be your legacy to your children? This includes the “spiritual children,” those you lead to Christ who look to you for guidance in their new life and walk (1 Corinthians 14:17). Have you shared your testimony and beliefs with the members of your own family? Can they also see a true believer who follows the Lord with all their strength and belief? Not just your children are watching you but also those who know you are professing to be a child of God: Friends, family, coworkers, everyone. Do your best to be without blame (1Corinthians 4:1-2). It begins at home with YOU. Her children will rise and call her blessed (Proverbs 31:28). Your good deeds will follow you (Revelation 14:13), and that includes EVERYONE inside and outside the door of your home and church. Every parent knows that kids mimic what they see and experience. Your good and bad habits will reflect in your children’s behavior. If you don’t tell them about Jesus’ saving grace, who will? If you don’t walk the walk, don’t expect them to either (James 1:22). Putting a positively loving “life by faith” example, Bible reading, knowledge and daily prayer habits in them early helps to plant a seed they’ll grow used to and never forget (Proverbs 22:6). Other kids will see it in them who have the loving, nourishing home life. A desire to have that may stick in their minds and prepare their hearts later on for someone who may witness to them the great saving message. You never know! The Lord doesn’t want any of those little ones to perish (Matthew 18:14). You may not change the world through your kids (you don’t have to), but their upbringing can make a big difference in their natural and eternal life. The Kingdom of Heaven is made for the kids (Matthew 19:14). Certainly you want your children to be with you among the great multitude. “Set your affection on things above, not things on the earth” (Colossians 3:1, 2). How much time and money have you invested in eternity? This has nothing to do with worldly monetary riches, but it has a lot to do with living a spirit-filled and selfless lifestyle for Christ, and taking every opportunity to give testimony to your changed life and salvation through Jesus, for this affects the eternal destiny of other people. Throughout Jesus’ ministry his needs and those of the disciples were always met, although Jesus Himself acclaimed to be homeless while on earth (Matthew 8:20). All the disciples that Jesus called to follow Him had left their lives behind them at Jesus’ request, but it was a willing choice they made. And they were all taken care of and able to minister to others. Paul also described how he took nothing for the journey, but was content and confident that everything would be provided: by the Lord along the way (Matthew 10:7-11). Not everyone is called to be a missionary overseas. But there’s plenty here to do as well! Think of your own family member sitting alone in a nursing home and preparing their minds and hearts for their death and uncertain eternity, or even some elderly folks who have no one to visit them; a child who can’t read can learn quickly within a few weeks with assistance, and eventually read the Bible for themselves. You could give the gospel message to a homeless person while you treat them to lunch and eat with them. Teens hanging out somewhere are excellent recipients of the message because of the uncertainty of their lives before them. It costs little to provide Bibles and even less to spend time with people, but the value of it may be the whole world and eternity to someone who receives it, just like when someone decided to give their time to you and share the gospel. We all work and have acquired things, but how much of that can you take with you to Heaven? Nothing. Either it gets sold off, given away, stolen, or your descendants fight over it, causing hate and division in the family. Can any of those things buy someone into heaven? None of it! (2Peter 3:10-11) The more you have the more distracted you are from the Lord, and the less you feel you need Him or have time to serve Him (1 John 2:15-17). No wonder He says the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). “Nowtherearediversitiesofgifts, butthesameSpirit” (1 Corinthians 12:4). Have you been witness to a miracle through you by God, or someone else you know well and told you about it? Imagine the faces of the witnesses too when Jesus healed the man with leprosy (Matthew 8:1-4, Luke 5:12-15). When no one else would touch him, Jesus was willing and the man was healed. This doesn’t mean that we should expect to receive all the gifts of Pentecost that Jesus promised the specific followers after his death and resurrection, but it doesn’t mean the Lord won’t use your life for His will, with His power and with eternal benefits to you and those who chose to believe the Lord because you were willing. Our gifts to use for His purposes (Romans 8:28; Hebrews 2:4, 1 Corinthians 12:4) will be revealed to us as we actively live out our faith and trust Him to lead us (1 Corinthians 12:4, Romans 8:14).But before we do any of that, we need to build our own relationship and look to Him first, and let Him tell us what needs to be done. It’s not about our show at all, but it’s all about Him (John 3:30). Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven” (John 20:21-23). Jesus pleaded to the disciples before his crucifixion to witness so don’t be fooled to think that it’s too late and time to sit back and watch the ceiling of opportunity close up and wait to be “taken up.” And don’t be tricked into falling for a New Spirituality that eliminates the need for repentance and atonement, and wishes to unite humanity in a “collective consciousness” to change the world. Especially don’t be misled that it is too late to reach the destitute and hopeless. There are Christians that have chosen to sit out this fight for the faith, who have chosen to play it safe and stay on the sidelines, and remain inactive (Matthew 22:14), even “asleep” (Romans 13:11). And then there are the great witnesses of Bible times, and countless saints since then who have gladly given their lives for Christ, because he first loved and died for us (Romans 5:8). There is no greater love on either side of heaven (Ephesians 5:2, 1 Corinthians 13:8). Will someone remember your legacy such as this? “I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints” (Philemon 1:4-7). Scripture emboldening added by the author for emphasis.

Here’s a beautiful story from the Old Testament to show this wasn’t a new idea when Jesus spoke it, but was documented in their history. The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing here at all,” she said, “Except a little oil.” Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the doors behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars and as each is filled, put it to one side.” She left him and afterward shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.” (2 Kings 4:1-7)
