Overtaking countries, cities and states with the sweltering heat waves, loss of life and wildfires destroying and scorching acres upon acres ,one can only shake their head and 'wonder what's going on'? Repentance, turn away from the wrath to come, your evil ways and deeds but this is NOT about repentance but HELL. The Father's hot displeasure is displayed every day, yet goes unheeded. The story of the rich man and Lazarus uses the actual name of a person. Such specificity would set it apart from ordinary parables, in which the characters are not named. This particular story does not fit the definition of a parable, which is a presentation of a spiritual truth using an earthly illustration. The story of the rich man and Lazarus presents spiritual truth directly, with no earthly metaphor. For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. Healing here would also mean save them from hell because the soul would be healed. WHY a person would chose NOT to listen to warnings that have been shouted from the roof tops so to speak? Old Faithful was named in 1870 during the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition and was the first geyser in the park to receive a name.[3][4] It is also known as one of the most predictable (as indicated by its name) geographical features on Earth, erupting almost every 91 minutes. The beauty and grandeur of the surrounding area is an awesome sense and one can only imagine the love God has for his creation that he would create such a wonder fully understanding HIS POWER AND MIGHT. To think just a blink of HIS eye and it is done! Singing along the way, you begin to relax as the miles tick past and your almost at your great VACATION—Touted as the world’s largest volcanoes and with its ‘bragging rights’ well documented, it could strike fear into a wise persons heart—One would be very wise to locate and read everything about this tourist destination. Warnings have been posted and Yellowstone National Park has been the subject of recent newscasts. The super volcano – which found last year to be 2.5 times larger than previously thought – has not erupted in over 640,000 years, leaving some to speculate that a blast is overdue. When it erupts again, the volcano could potentially spew ash over large swathes of North America and cause trouble around the entire planet. "It would be a global event," Jamie Farrell of the University of Utah told the Associated Press last year. "There would be a lot of destruction and a lot of impacts around the globe." The super-volcano beneath Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming has been rising at a record rate since 2004.It would explode with a force a thousand times more powerful than the Mount St Helens eruption in 1980.Spewing lava far into the sky, a cloud of plant-killing ash would fan out and dump a layer 10ft deep up to 1,000 miles away. Two-thirds of the U.S. could become uninhabitable as toxic air sweeps through it, grounding thousands of flights and forcing millions to leave their homes. The heat of the ash and volcanic activity is enough to send chills down the spine of even the most courageous hiker/camper/adventurer. During the most recent super-eruption 640,000 years ago, the super volcano ejected 2,500 times as much ash and lava as the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption. If such an eruption were to occur today, it would bury the immediate vicinity in ash flows up to 600 meters deep, and would ultimately spread ash across the western half of North America. Meanwhile, sulfur aerosols and ash particles from the volcano would travel the world, lowering temperatures, devastating agriculture and causing alarming water and air quality issues. ‘The Yellowstone volcano last erupted magma 70,000 years ago, but it is anything but dead. Magma is actively churning beneath the landscape of Yellowstone National Park, and is responsible for the world’s largest and most diverse collection of natural thermal features, including Old Faithful and the spectacular Norris Geyser Basin. The activity also causes periodic swarms of earthquakes. As with the explosion of Mt. I counter your question with a very important one, which you may have a problem with in answering. ARE YOU FEARFUL of the truth? It is noted that a wise person will seek the truth and explore each meaning and Gandhi was asked the meaning of truth—the ‘fear’ you may be experiencing is not fear but conviction Saying one is fearful of the future, let’s consider what Dante said about fear in his poem Dante’s Inferno. In the allegory of Dante’s Inferno, in a fearful state and rightly so the expression ‘all who enter here lose all hope’ was above the door leading to hell—the abyss of flames, darkness never ending pain and torment. To lose any and all hope is a tragedy one need not suffer as long as there is breath—however the choice has been made and the actions fit the choice—hell eternally with their friends—I will briefly touch on a few of Dante’s statements not giving time to explore his mind only the writings. Fear is a natural and healthy process depending on what the fear consists of—and Dante’s fear was real and although an allegory you can see his reasons.(an allegory is: a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one. As the story progresses, Dante must learn to reconcile his sympathy for suffering with the harsh violence of God’s justice; the deeper he proceeds into Hell, the less the agonies of the damned affect him.’ A poet being moved by his own words and necessary explanations can relate to the masses he reached by his work. Fear has torment as we have seen by many various things: John 4:18. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. ONLY when we walk in the light of HIS divine love is fear cast out- Am I ‘trying to scare you’? My intention is to make every reader understand the seriousness of walking with the Master as opposed to following the steps of the deceiver the devil incarnate. To have no fear but live in this world ‘unafraid’ is like daring a rabid dog to tear you apart. The wonder of walking in HIS way is amazing and will bring you to your knees in repentance if you so chose—IT IS after all your choice—I have NEVER experienced a ‘I ain’t scared of anything’ person who didn’t meet a horrible end--.Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden, Adolph Hitler, and Goliath to name a few—They each have taken the path to hell and are burning eternally in sulfur fire in the total darkness hearing the screams of the other damned that chose to go to hell. Points to ponder: #1 How can you agree that fear and warning are the same? #2 Does your rejection of Jesus means you are NOT afraid. #3 Does calamity not strike fear in your heart. #4 If you could chose to avoid calamity would you are would you dismiss the warnings and go on your merry way? Training for the Olympics is a endeavor many try for to prove their powers and stamina. How does this even tie in with hell? Simple. Our steps which are ordered by the Lord from the beginning of time have the potential of good and evil .Hell is full of the evil footsteps, decisions and actions that led the strong virile steps of youth to depths one did not want to travel. The New Testament Koine Greek contains many words and phrases concerning the Olympic games of Biblical times, because they were familiar household terms that powerfully communicated God's truths by comparing the known and familiar terms of the Olympic Games to the spiritual truths of God's Word. The grueling training the discipline necessary to master the Olympic running of the marathons, is also a significant spiritual truth: Stepping in the direction of hell, or Sheol (Hebrew) - It is the non-permanent place or temporary address of the disembodied souls of dead.. It is the same as the Greek word "Hades", Prior to Jesus Christ's resurrection, both the souls of the evil and the righteous went there after death. It is translated "grave" 31 times, "hell" 31 times, and "pit" 3 times in King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. Aware of the extreme conditions of training for the marathon, many things come into focus: A central truth in the Olympic training is In "Striving for the mastery", is the Greek word "athleo", from which we get the English word "athlete". Freely translated, this verse states that "if anyone competes in the games, he cannot receive medals or awards (stephanos) unless he obeys the rules." Always striving for perfection and mastery we can never win the race in life and have our steps go upward unless we obey the rules, rules HE has placed before us. "Stripping down to competition weight" and "running an Olympic foot race with endurance". Notice here that the event we are to compete in IS PLACED IN FRONT OF US. We do not choose our "event" or "race" in this life, but God, in His infinite wisdom, chooses our "event" for each of us. Knowing the beginning to the end a PURPOSE in all things. Stripping away the layers of sin will also allow us to have our steps upward to the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit will bring to your mind the things, which weight you down and prevent you from becoming all you can be in Christ Jesus. And the steps once again continue downward. Steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Stepping downward in NEVER HIS will for you but your choice. In the Olympic arena "STADIA" ( KJV "race") - In verse 24, Running the "track", or "race course" event. The KJV word "race" in is the Greek word "stadia". "Stadia" was used for the "stadium", in which the foot race events were held, and as a unit of measure, for about 220 yards. the length of the Everyone who competes only one wins the coveted prize ,and the foot race is most strenuous, placing strain and pain on the feet legs tendons and muscles. Placing you under subjection of the rules of the trainer, we can see the ultimate results as we look toward the prize set before us. Striving for the mastery of the race and the Olympic torch, we are fighting the good fight of faith and physical stamina. . Now they [do it] to obtain a corruptible "crown"; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so "fight" I, not as "one that beateth the air": But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a "castaway"."We never want to be castaway or disqualified by the misuse of our bodies which is the temple of the Lord. Never allow yourself to become disqualified" from receiving rewards for not following the rules. God's Word contains the "rules" for our "race". To bring one under subjection of the Master Trainer, we MUST conform to their rules and discipline the body in the training. Having self-control required of any athlete to become an excellent athlete, we fight the good fight. Self-control awarded to the child of God and as they exercise it, they are strengthened both physically and spiritually. Temperance also speaks of self-control and the desire to become perfected in the games. Crown also means awards, medals and wreaths that are laid at the winners feet. Our "crowns", throughout the New Testament, are always the Greek word "stephanos". The Greek word "diadem" is the word for a "kings crown", and only Jesus wears a "diadem". Our "crowns", or rewards for Christian service are stated 9 times, and are always "stephanos", relating directly to the athletic awards of the Olympic Games. Paul likens his physical training as this: Shadow boxing he knew the pitfalls, which were to come his way so he kept both physically, mentally, and spiritually, fit, not allowing any distractions. Paul is saying that our "fight" or "boxing match" is not as one who "shadow boxes", but our "boxing match" is real. Again, a Greek Olympic training phrase, used to state that our enemy is spiritual and very real! And the enemy is literally fighting for your soul!! Rom 8:37 states that every Christian is more than a "conqueror", or "winner" through Him who loved us. As conquering athletes, we can boldly say unto the Lord the Lord is my helper I will NOT fear what man can do to me. Standing in awe and total reverence before the Lord YOU have escaped the GATES OF HELL BY HIS GRACE and the blood HE shed on Calvary. The Christian's final judgment is described in 2 Cor 5:10 and in Rom 14:10, and the "judgment seat" of Christ is a "bema". The "bema" in New Testament times was a raised platform at the Olympic Games, where the chief of the games stood and placed awards around the neck of all the winners! The "Great White throne" in Rev 20:11, where God sits to judge all the unbelievers is a "THRONAS", or King's throne, but the Christian's judgment at the Judgment Seat of Christ is a "BEMA", where all the Olympic "winners" filed by to receive their awards, or "stephanos". What a wonderful picture of Christ, who died for our sins, placing our "awards" on our heads and around our necks at our judgment! The most important crown one will ever receive is the crown of righteousness, which as it is stated in Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, To cast our crowns at the feet of the one who died for us is so reverent and holy it really lacks proper words to describe it. PRAISE GOD YOU ESCAPED THE GATES OF HELL. Points to ponder: #1 Are you training for your eternal life or the life here and now? #2 Have you ever watched an athlete train for the Olympics? #3 Does physical exercise make you totally drained? #4 Do YOU have a crown to cast at the Masters feet or are you living for the here and now?
