The New Age Spiritual Dangers Lurking In Rick Warren’s Daniel Plan Deception

Daniel Plan: 40 Days to a Healthier Life?
This time of year many churches hop on the band wagon to joining the Rick Warren spearheaded Daniel Fast. Churches promote fasting to change your life for health reasons or for seeking direction in life from God by abstaining from food.
I have deep concerns about this fast for Christians. My biggest concern is that Pastor Rick Warren worked with a group of new age doctors to put together this program. The who's who of wolves seeking to devour the Christian church. These men are not believers. They should not be championed within the church.
Eph 5:11 (KJV) "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."
What is it about them that makes them qualified to create a program based on Biblical principles? Nothing! Years ago this would have been thrown out of the church as heresy. But now we embrace it because a bible verse / story was slapped on it, printed by a Christian publisher and away we go.

Dr Mark Hyman, Dr Daniel Aman and Dr Mehmet Oz where the key contributors to the Daniel Plan: 40 Days to a Healthier Life. But these three doctors are part of the new age movement. Dr Hyman is a known Buddhist, Dr Daniel Amen is a New Age psychiatrist who uses kundalini practices in his work, and Dr Mehmet Oz is also deeply into the New Age movement. This blog really spells out the issues with the Daniel Plan and the church. If you still doubt that this is doing harm, check out this personal account of from a person who attended the seminar at Saddleback Church when this program was launched. The main message of this program was that we have the power to change and that we need to be part of a community to succeed. This is Agenda 21 / Sustainability and Rick Warren is ushering it into the church. And it is not just with the Daniel Plan. Over the years he has done this through the Purpose Driven Life, Chrislam and so much more. Stunning!
What does the Bible tell us about fasting? We are told to conceal our fasting - to do it in secret. Is that what churches are doing with the Daniel Plan?
Matthew 6:16-18 (KJV) "Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance; for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash they face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto the Father which is in secret: and they Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly."
In the diet there are good foods and there are bad foods. Is that what God tells us? Yes I get the junk food vs real food. But for purposes of this blog post I am discussing real God created food. Mark 7:15 (KJV) tells us "There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man."
The goal of the diet suggests avoiding meat so that your fasting connection to God will be greater and more complete. But I Cor 8:8 (KJV) speaks differently to us "But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse." God is telling us spiritually if we eat it or not, it will not make a difference.
What is the Kingdom of God about? Let's look to Romans 17:14 (KJV) "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."
Hebrews 13:9 (KJV) "Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein."
Rick Warren has enlisted the help of some very popular Eastern and New Age spiritualists. These people will be found and followed by many millions of people in the church who lack discernment as to the truth of God's Word and will run the risk of discovering many of the dark pagan practices and "healing" methods that they teach. These men lead Christians down one path, and that is to the occult. There are many Biblical health experts that could have helped him to create a book that could be used by the members of the church (and other Christians) who would not lead them away from Gods truth. Why did Rick choose these men? Could it be the "birds of a feather" concept? Shepherds that do this to their flock are called wolves.
Christians, we need to watch who we follow and what we engage in and promote. This is no small issue. Heresy is rushing into the churches all around us. Few are noticing that it is happening. It's time to study like the Bereans did to make sure that you are in fact entering through the narrow gate and not travelling the wide path that leads to destruction.
I Peter 5:8 - "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"
2 Cor 11:14 - "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."
It is no accident that this program looks Christian and Biblical when it is not. Satan is on the prowl and Paul warned us that this day would come. His sheep know his voice. (John 10:4).
Do you?
